You do, that's who. Seriously, assuming you have a decent spice collection (if you don't that's a whole other conversation), this recipe takes about 4 minutes from start to finish. Two of those is remembering where your measuring spoons are.
I haven't posted on here since the fire and evacuation. I've simply been too mentally busy. Between cleaning up the house and yard, to visiting with friends and neighbors, house renos and fishing trips, life has been full.
Sometimes I buy the low salt, pre made taco seasoning packages (gasp) but then it invariably happens. I reach into the cupboard to grab one to add to the lean ground beef that is bubbling away and NOPE, I forgot to grab one. At that moment my brain does the back and forth. Do I just add a can of tomatoes and throw in some rice and pass it off as a meal I actually wanted to make, or do I take the four minutes to make a homemade taco seasoning. If you're me you sigh, open up your spice cupboard and get to it. On the plus side when you make a bigger batch you don't have to worry about it for a while.

Homemade Taco seasoning.
1 Tbsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp ground paprika
1 tsp ground cumin
3/4 tsp ground sea salt
1 tsp black pepper
1. Mix and use. Top THAT for easy :)
*I usually make a bigger batch using four times of each ingredient except salt. That I just double.
